To begin, networks are further looking to grow with many homes still not connected to ultrafast fibre which gives the opportunity to expand into new areas. During 2021 there was an estimated 20% growth in bandwidth usage, likely as a result with people staying in due to lockdowns and remote working. This suggests the need to expand to prevent issues in latency and to ensure these networks keep providing high speeds to end users.

Furthermore, it is expected that cloud-native networks will becoming increasingly available, meaning much faster access to more data than ever before. Lastly, DOCSIS is once again improving with a Low Latency DOCSIS coming online to improve user experience’s for gamers.
